Marjorie Elizabeth ( Fellows) Munroe, age 91 passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday October 23, 2011 surrounded by her family.
She was born June 24, 1920 in Boston, the daughter of the late Henry and Mildred E. (Simmons) Fellows. Mrs. Munroe married the late John W. Munroe with whom she shared 63 wonderful loving years. Together they shared a life full of love and devotion admired by all. They shared their passions for square dancing, traveling to many parts of the country on bus tours, tending their bountiful vegetable gardens together, excursions to Foxwoods and the Red Sox.
An avid craftswoman, Marjorie was an accomplished seamstress, knitter, quilter, smocker, crotcheter and miniature furniture builder.
Amazingly "sharp as a tack", until her death, Marge would participate in lively conversations with her family and friends equipped with up to date knowledge of local national and world events.
She is survived by three sons, John W. Munroe and his wife Marsha of Salem, Michael J. Munroe and his wife Susan of Danvers and Stephen J. Munroe and his companion Cynthia Beckhusen of Salem; a sister Cora DeBenedicitis of Lynn; three grandchildren Kerry A (Munroe) Madden and her husband Damien of Groton, Elizabeth J. and John M. Munroe of Danvers and two great grandchildren Abigail and Katherine Madden of Groton.
The family will receive visitors at 23 Appleton St, Marjorie' home of 66 years, on Thursday October 27, 2011 for 4-8PM.
