Danvers……
Marilyn A. Haley, age 54 of Danvers, died in the Kaplan Family Hospice House Danvers Monday evening, surrounded by her loving family, following a three year battle with breast cancer. She and her husband Shaun T. Graham were soul mates and had shared 11 wonderful years together.
Born in Peabody the daughter of Lorraine (Currier) Haley of North Fort Myers, FL and the late John Haley, Marilyn was raised in Beverly, graduating from Beverly High School in the Class of 1971. She then continued her education at North Shore Community College and Endicott College.
She was a wonderfully social woman who loved people and travel. Her warm and extremely magnetic personality combined with both a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh allowed her to make friends easily wherever she was. To know her was to love her.
Marilyn had managed the Salem Trolley Company in Salem for many years and later was employed by Yankee Fleet in Gloucester and most recently Hawthorne Tours in Salem.
As a member of North of Boston Convention and Visitor's Bureau she served on the Board of Directors and was presented the Geoff Woodman Hospitality Award in 2006.
She had also been a very active member of the Salem Chamber of Commerce for many years and served on many of its committees.
In addition to her husband and mother , she is survived by a brother John Haley II and his wife Kim of Beverly, two sisters Marie Haley-Barry and her husband Robert of Danvers and Kathleen Haley Holland of Beverly; several nieces and nephews, many friends who supported her though her illness and the dedicated staff of the Kaplan Family House who cared for her.
She was predeceased by her former husband, the late Salem Police Officer, Paul LeBlanc.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, June 20th at 10:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St.(cor of North St) Salem, to be followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary's Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be private.
