Obituary

Maribeth Schuler Forbes died on Saturday evening September 18, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on January 1, 1963, to the late Albert and Sally Schuler and was the youngest of five children.  Maribeth considered herself very lucky to grow up in the beautiful town of Stockbridge and has many lifetime friends there.

She obtained her accounting degree from UMass Amherst in 1985 and moved to the Boston area to begin a career as a CPA. She worked at the US General Accounting Office where she met the love of her life Ken.  They were married in 1990 and settled in Marblehead to welcome their three wonderful daughters Caitlin, Bridget and Maggie. Maribeth continued to work various accounting jobs but always believed her most important job was raising her daughters.  She was very proud of each of them and what they have accomplished.

Maribeth volunteered for many years in the schools and various organizations. She enjoyed watching her daughters play sports and traveling with her family.  She cherished her trips to Ireland and the National Parks.  Her hobbies included knitting, gardening, boating, camping, running and biking.  She enjoyed hosting gatherings for family and friends at her home.

Maribeth is survived by her loving husband Kenneth, three daughters: Caitlin Wolf, Bridget Forbes, Maggie Forbes, son in law Nicholas Wolf and her beloved grandchildren Nicholas and Kennedy Wolf.  She is also survived by her siblings Tom Schuler, Margaret Schuler and Jennifer Plum, her sisters-in-law Elizabeth and Louise Forbes.  In addition, she leaves her uncles: Bill and Richard Waibel and many nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her beloved cousins Cathy Hesse and Cailin Collier who were like sisters to her.  She was predeceased by her parents Al and Sally Schuler and her beloved sister Julie Harrington.
