Marianne "Mimi" (Thomen) Williams, 71, passed away on April 27, 2022 in Salem Hospital with her loving family by her side.

She was born September 30, 1950 in Torrington CT to Andrew and Mary Elizabeth (Ahearn) Thomen.  She graduated from Wamogo High School in Litchfield CT in 1968 and went on to earn her Associates Degree from Lasell College in 1971.

Mimi married the love of her life, Richard, on August 10, 1974.  They enjoyed the early years of the marriage adventuring across the country before settling down in California for many years.  They returned to the north shore and settled in Salem MA where they raised their children Colin and Kathleen.

Mimi worked for many years at Salem Hospital before finishing her career at Microsurgical Eye Consultants where she enjoyed every day working with her amazing coworkers.

Mimi enjoyed traveling with her husband, reading, music, aqua aerobics, The Cape, and time with her grandchildren, Michael and Cameron.  She was an incredibly kind and thoughtful person to her family and friends.

Marianne is survived by her husband Richard, son Colin and his children Michael and Cameron, daughter Kathleen, sisters Cheryl Newman and Linda Wells, and many nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.  She is predeceased by her parents Andy and Betty, and younger brother Drew.

Visiting hours are on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street, Salem from 4 to 8 PM. Family has asked that masks be worn at all times. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, 17 Chestnut St, Peabody at 10:00 AM, on Friday May 13. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
