Obituary

With heavy hearts and joyful spirits, we announce the passing of Maria Carmina DiIsso, who was born on July 13, 1928, in Benevento, Italy. Maria graced this world for nearly 97 years, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories that will forever enrich the lives of those who knew her.

Maria's journey through life was marked by her unwavering strength and deep devotion to her family. As the beloved mother of Peter DiIsso and his wife Lisa of Haverhill  and Rosemary DiIsso of North Carolina, she demonstrated the power of love and connection, embracing the world with a warmth that touched everyone around her. She lived most of her life in Salem, Massachusetts, where her spirit flourished, and where she created lasting bonds and friendships that transcended generations.  Maria was a devoted member of the former St. Mary's Italian Church in Salem for many years.

Throughout Maria's life, she exemplified the values of tenacity and grace, inspiring all who had the privilege to hear her stories and share in her laughter. She embraced every moment, adding joyful color to life's canvas, reflecting her vibrant character and spirited personality. She loved handcrafts' especially sharing her knitting and crocheting projects with her family and friends. Maria poured her love into making her famous Italian meals for her family.

A celebration of Maria's life will be held in the coming days, where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable journey. Her visiting hour will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Murphy Funeral Home, from 10 am to 11 am followed by a Funeral Service at 11 am at the Funeral Home, inviting loved ones to come together in remembrance and gratitude for Maria's extraordinary impact on each of our lives.

In addition to her two children and daughter in law she is survived by her grandchildren Peter R. DiIsso of Haverhill, Cristina (Benjamin) Hill of Haverhill, Andrew DiIsso of Weymouth, great grandchildren Nina Eve Hill and Tiana Grace Hill both of Haverhill.
Maria was preceded in death by her loving husband Michael Di Isso. Her family would like to thank the staff at the Brookhouse in Salem for the care she received in the later years of her life.

Maria Carmina DiIsso's legacy will be woven into the fabric of our hearts, reminding us to embrace life with the same zest and passion she exemplified every day. Her laughter, love, and indomitable spirit will be profoundly missed, yet her memory will live on, celebrated in the stories we share and the love we carry forward.
