Margaret A. Sears (Marini), 55
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Margaret, beloved wife for 15 years of Douglas K. Sears, at home on Saturday afternoon, July 19, 2008 surrounded by her family.
Loving daughter of Brantizio and Rose (Agathopoulos) Marini of Quincy, Margaret graduated from Quincy High School. A French major, she attended the Sorbonne in Paris, and graduated with honors in 1974 from the University of Massachusetts.
She was employed in the freight forwarding industry as a logistics manager when she was introduced to Doug. After a wonderful courtship Margaret married Doug, the love of her life, in November 1992 and settled in Marblehead. After her retirement in 2004 they began enjoying their winters in Del Mar, California.
Margaret had a kindness and generosity of spirit that made her many friends throughout her life, friends whom she cherished and shared her love of gardening, cooking and entertaining. Margaret with be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who loved her boundless enthusiasm for life, contagious laugh, beautiful smile and ability to make everyone feel welcomed.
In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret is survived by her sister Lisa Marini Khalsa, her godfather Thomas Agathopoulos, her godchildren Jennifer Hagopian and Michael Pappas, her nieces, cousins and in-laws Sheri Sears and Dr. Barry Sears and their families.
Private funeral services are under the direction of the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St. Danvers, MA 01923.
