Peabody – Margaret I. (Young) Rubin, age 70 years, wife of the late John "Jack" Rubin, died Friday evening, March 22, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Waterloo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Alice (DelPapa) Young. She was raised in Waterloo where she graduated from Waterloo High School.  She met the love of her life Jack Rubin and was married in 1967 following a six month courtship.  They relocated to Beverly soon after marrying where they lived until Jack joined the Salem Fire Department and moved to Salem, settling in Peabody in 1977.

Margaret was a stay at home Mom with her three boys.  When they were older she returned to the work force and was employed with Bertini's in Salem working the Keno machine.  She was employed with them for 20 years, retiring in 2018.

She was an avid reader and loved visiting Foxwoods.  She enjoyed cruising and visiting the casino on ship.  She would go on a yearly trip to Puritan Springs with her girlfriends that she always looked forward to.  She very much enjoyed traveling and would visit her family in New York where she would spend weeks at a time.

Surviving her are her 3 loving boys, Michael D. Rubin of Peabody, Christopher L. Rubin of New York City and Thomas E. Rubin of Peabody, her siblings, Janet Barbieri of Waterloo, NY, Joan Carter and her husband Robert of Geneva, NY, William Young and his wife Toni of Waterloo, NY, Michael Young of Albany, NY, her 2 grandchildren Katie Elizabeth and Patrick Anthony and many nieces and nephews.  She was also the aunt of the late Bobby Carter.

Her family would like to thank the nursing staff and volunteers from Care Dimensions for the loving care they gave their mother.
