Margaret Sue (Rogers) O'Neill age 71 of Middleton, died suddenly on Saturday morning in Beverly Hospital after being stricken at home. She was the wife of Richard A. O'Neill with whom she shared 53 years wonderful years of marriage.


She was born in Ft. Worth, TX the daughter of the late Sydney and Ophelia E. (Cochran) Rogers. Following her graduation from high school, Mrs. O'Neill met and married her husband, began their family and moved to Peabody for a brief period of time, until making their home in Danvers. For more than 20 years they have lived in Middleton.


Dedicated to her family, she was very active in Calvary Episcopal Church, Danvers. She was an integral part of Church activity and had served in many capacities including its Altar Guild, being a lay reader and being a chalice bearer.


Always a very caring a giving person, she found great pleasure in sharing her talents with others in making crafts, cooking, baking and gardening. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.


In addition to her husband, Mrs. O'Neill is survived by four children Edward O'Neill and his wife Maura of Rowley, Betsy O'Neill Shean of New Hampshire, Susan O'Neill of Middleton and Shari DeAngelis and her husband Jay of Bradford; three grandchildren Kate Bonfanti, Felix O'Neill and Isabella DeAngelis; one great grandchild Mackenzie MacDonald and the faith community of Calvary Episcopal Church.

She was predeceased by her step father Curtis Johnson.


Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in Calvary Episcopal Church, 46 Cherry St., Danvers, MA 01923. At the family's request there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial contributions be made in her name to the Calvary Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 46 Cherry St., Danvers, MA 01923.
