Salem…..

Margaret C. (Moynihan) Swiniarski, age 84 wife of the late Stanley Swiniarski of Salem died at home on Wednesday May 18, 2011 following a long illness.

A lifelong resident of Salem, she was born in and raised in Salem the daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Poor) Moynihan. Following her graduation from Salem High School, Mrs. Swiniarski joined New England Telephone Co. as on Operator, where she was employed for over 25 years until retiring at the age of 65. She enjoyed the friendships she made with her coworkers and had been an active member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Her main focus was her family and home. Mrs. Swiniarski was a dedicated and loving mother who enjoyed cooking and also took great pride in her "green thumb" gardening talents.

She is survived by three daughters Kathleen Pizzo of Salem with whom she resided, Karen Madrigal of San Diego, CA, Kristin McInnis of Salem and one son Kevin Swiniarski and his wife Paula of Newburyport; a brother Edward Moynihan and his wife Shirley of Concordia, KS; a sister Karen Candeas of Newbury; a sister in law Elsie Moynihan; 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers Francis, Robert and William Moynihan and three sisters Marie Mozdziez, Ruth Baker and Patricia Powell.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 9:15 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (Cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St James Church 160 Federal St., Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
