Margaret C. Herlihy age 82 wife of John I Herlihy, of Peabody, died Tuesday evening, July 31, 2012 in Beverly Hospital following a long illness.
Born raised and educated in Salem the daughter of the late Michael and Maude (Pomelon) Casey she attended local schools. Following her education she became employed in the dry cleansing business as a shirt presser for many years at Prim Cleansers in Peabody.
A devoted mother and loving wife, Mrs. Herlihy, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing Bingo at St. Mary's Church in Danvers.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by six children , John and his wife Pauline Herlihy of South Carolina, Gerald Herlihy, Marilyn and her husband James Ryan of Danvers, Peggy and her husband Tom Carrigan of New Hampshire, Mary and her husband Paul Crispo of Danvers and David and his wife Paula Herlihy of Maine; two daughter in laws June Herlihy of Danvers, wife of the late James Herlihy and Peggy Herlihy, wife of the late Donald Herlihy as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a large extended family.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (cor of North St) Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be prior to the services from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
