Obituary

Madeline Ann (Kerkorian) Jackson, age 89, wife of the late Frederick J. "Trav" Jackson with whom she shared 54 years of marriage, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 30, 2014. Born in Peabody, Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of the late John and Osanna (Toumikian) Kerkorian. Mrs. Jackson was raised and educated in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School. Following High School, she was employed with CBS Hytron in Danvers and continued with Sylvania, where she worked for 39 years until her retirement.

Mrs. Jackson enjoyed crocheting and had made many afghans for her friends and family members. Her and her husband enjoyed dancing and entertaining their friends on Saturday evenings. She was a former member of the Geary 5 in Marblehead. She also enjoyed playing cards with her girlfriends every week.  During her retirement, Mrs. Jackson enjoyed her winters in Naples Florida. But most especially she loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Surviving her is her loving daughter Laura Ridley of Salem and her son Robert Jackson and his wife Pamela Jackson of Providence, RI, five grandchildren, David of Peabody, Lisa Garlin of Danvers and Amy St. Pierre of Falmouth, Maine, Scott of New Mexico and Margot Jackson of Providence, RI, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of Abraham and William Kerkorian and Anna Borodkin.

Her Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (cor of North St.) Salem at 9:15 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Margin St., Salem at 10:00 A.M. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday April 3, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
