Obituary

Luke Scott Thibodeau, age 26, of Swampscott, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 after a brief illness. He was the beloved son of Kathryn (Cullen) and Scott Thibodeau of Swampscott. Born and raised in Swampscott, he attended Swampscott schools and The Essex Agricultural and Technical High School. Enlisting in the Army he was trained as an infantry heavy weapons specialist at Ft. Benning, GA and than assigned to the HHT, 1-71, Cavalry Regiment (RSTA), lOth MTN Division, Ft. Drum, NY.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother Ross W. Thibodeau and his wife Kim of West Point, NY, his daughter Abigail Leigh Vestal of Lynn, his paternal grandmother Janet Osgood Thibodeau of Salem, along with extended family and friends. He was the grandson of the late Paige and Kathryn "Keke" Cullen of Swampscott.

Luke enjoyed the outdoors, Martial Arts, music, his truck, and working with his hands. He worked in the Landscaping field at multiple companies.

He was a member of the Leon E. Abbott Post 57, American Legion, Swampscott and the Franco- American Club, Beverly.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the First Church Congregational, 40 Monument Ave, Swampscott, with burial to be followed at Swampscott Cemetery. Visiting hours will be at Murphy's Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 5-8 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to The Swampscott Veterans Trust Fund, c/o Eastern Bank, 405 Paradise Rd, Swampscott, MA 01907.
