Marblehead….

Louise J. (Woods) Reilly, age 89, wife of the late Thomas J. Reilly of Marblehead, died at home Friday morning.

Born in Salem the daughter of the late Nicholas and Anastacia (Martin) Woods, she was raised and educated in Marblehead. A graduate of Marblehead High School, Class of 1937, Mrs. Reilly attended business school in Boston and then became employed by S.S. Pierce also in Boston for a brief period. During World War II she was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I) in the Boston Office and in 1946, became a clerk for the Veteran's Administration on Boston.

From 1960 until her retirement in 1982, she enjoyed her career, colleagues and friends in the Principals Office of Marblehead High School.

An avid Red Sox Fan, Mrs. Reilly loved animals and had raised miniature poodles. She loved being with her family and took a strong interest in all of her nieces and nephews activities.

Mrs. Reilly is survived by a sister Anne Casey of Marblehead; her nieces and nephews Judith Kingsford of Wellington, FL., John Woods of Apex, NC, Peter Woods of Newburyport, Scott Woods of Salem, Charlene Burkinshaw of Salem, Cheryl Tremblay, Sean Casey and Nicholas Casey all of Marblehead; many great nieces and nephews including a special great niece Hannah Casey of Marblehead.

She was predeceased by a sister Gertrude Homan a brother John Woods and a nephew who was also her Godson, Thomas Casey.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 13, at 9:15 A.M. form the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 81 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead.
