Louise E. Gagnon, age 78, formerly of Swampscott, beloved wife of Joseph A. Gagnon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. Known for her quick wit and great generosity, she especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her loving husband of 56 years, she is survived by her children Mary Lou Dunn and her husband James of Rochester, NH, Nancy Swiniuch of Salem, Elizabeth Dubin and her husband Douglas of Swampscott and Joseph A. Gagnon, Jr and his wife Tracy of Haverhill, her brother Gerard Caron and his wife Sandra of Lynn and Dennis Caron and his companion Margo Howes of Nantucket. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Richard Gagnon of Haverhill, Josh Dubin of New York City, Samuel Dubin of Washington, D.C., Michael Swiniuch of Salem, Jeremy Swiniuch of Salem, Danielle Dunn of Portsmouth, NH, Erika Dunn of Seoul, South Korea and Hannah Dubin of Swampscott.


Her funeral will be held from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 80 Atlantic Ave, Marblehead at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours are at Murphy Funeral Home on Thursday January 15, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
