Obituary

SALEM: Lorraine G. (Trasher) Sadoski, 93, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2016 at Herrick House in Beverly. Mrs. Sadoski was the beloved wife of the late Tadius "Ted" Sadoski.
Born in Salem, MA on July 7, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Emma (Laforme) Trasher.
Lorraine cherished her role as mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She will be remembered as warmly engaging, forever thankful, and caring.
Lorraine was educated in Salem and graduated from Salem High School, Class of 1940. After completing a year at a business school, she attended and graduated from the Salem Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. During WWII she served in the WAVES as a Naval Ensign assigned to the Chelsea Naval Hospital.
Following her marriage, and while raising her family, she worked at the Salem Court House and in the circulation department at the Salem News. Lorraine was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Salem and Salem Hospital School of Nursing Alumni. She greatly enjoyed following all of the Boston sports teams. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed sharing her famous Nana cookies.
Lorraine's most treasured times were spent with her children and their families: Dr. Donald Sadoski and his wife Dr. Darleen Sadoski, Judith Sadoski, Richard Sadoski and wife Diane, Carol Duffy and husband Sean; grandchildren, Darcia Tremblay and husband Tom, Stephen Sadoski and wife Kristal, Jennifer Sadoski, Jeff Sadoski and wife Courtney, Jessica Nieves and husband Ray, Brian Sadoski and partner Tabitha Hughes, Rachel Duffy, and Lauren Duffy and husband Chris Brusberg. She was the proud great grandmother to nine great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Carol Smith and husband Ron, and was the sister of the late Margaret Ireland, Charles Trasher, Helen Krajeski, Louise Nonni, Martha Carey, Ruth Trasher and Philip Trasher.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, August 31st from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends at invited to gather on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street, Salem, to be followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
