Lorraine Chouinard of Swampscott, age 56, died Tuesday April 21, 2015 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in Marblehead, daughter of Donald Chouinard of Salem and Louise D'Alessandro of Amherst. She was raised in Manchester-by-the-Sea where she graduated High School in the class of 1976. She graduated from Merrimack College with her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing in the class of 1980 and continued at Tufts University having earned her Master's in Nutrition.
Lorraine was a talented jewelry designer. She was the proprietor of Ella Grace Jewelry Design based out of Swampscott and made one of a kind jewelry pieces handcrafted of sterling silver and natural semi-precious stones.
Surviving her in addition to her parents are her fiancé Bob Sullivan of Swampscott, her brothers and sisters, Christine Galgano and her partner Pam Wermuth of Belchertown, Donald Chouinard, Jr and his wife Elaine of Danville, CA, Jay Chouinard and his husband Dan Parlin of Salem, Michelle Chouinard of Revere, her niece and nephews, Lauren and Joshua Chouinard, Andrew Chouinard, Vincent Galgano and several aunts and uncles. She was also the sister of the late Robert Galgano.
Lorraine's funeral will be from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (Cor of North St.) Salem on Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave, Salem at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
