Lillian Margaret (Campbell) Salvo of Salem, passed on January 16, 2021 from complications of COVID.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband, and former Mayor of Salem, Anthony Salvo.
Born in Centerville Beverly, she was the youngest child of the late J. Malcolm and Manila D. (York) Campbell.
Lillian spent most of her childhood in Wenham enjoying school friends, and her large family. There she embraced her love for skating, and hiking with her beloved dogs. Lillian was a longtime member of the Centerville C.E. Church in Beverly and enjoyed singing in the choir. Lillian was also a lifetime Girl Scout.
After graduating Beverly High School, Lillian worked at Almy's Department Store and Knight's Lumber before her marriage to Tony and moving to Salem. Lillian became active in Women's Friends Society. She was a member of the Baptist Church, and often joined her friends on a bus ride into the Boston Symphony. Lillian's love for the outdoors continued through her life and she could often be found at Winter Island or walking in Salem Woods.
Lillian is survived by her sister H. Elaine Hardy of Wenham, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings Ellison Campbell, Vernon Campbell, J. Merle Sillars, Carl Campbell, and Marjorie Godfrey.
The family wishes to recognize the incredible care givers at Sunrise at Gardner Park and Care Dimensions for their dedication to the well-being of their residents.
