Lili (Goerz) Rowen, age 92, died on Monday February 11, 2019 in Marblehead,   MA.  She was the widow of Thomas D. Rowen who died in 1989 and the devoted and loving companion of Donald R. Humphreys who died in 2014. Lili is deeply mourned by her sister Christiane G. Dueren of Berlin, Germany and her nephew Stefan. She also leaves her step-daughters Linn R.Torto of Marblehead and Suzanne Rowen of Seattle, WA. , sister-in-law Constance Barker of Hampton NH, several nieces and nephews and some very loving friends.  Lili was the daughter of the late Paul and Lili (Koerner) Goerz.  She was predeceased by her sister Gisela Leefe and brother Paul H Goerz.

Lili was born and educated in Berlin, Germany but spent the post-war years in the West of Germany until she came to the United States in 1955 to join her parents and worked in the family-owned optical/photographic lens manufacturing company on Long Island, NY. She met Tom Rowen skiing in Vermont and they were married in 1959. After moving and settling in Marblehead in 1966, she loved playing tennis and crewing for her husband, racing their International One Design sloop "Duchess". Lili was a long-time member of the Eastern Yacht Club and in later years enjoyed the comradery and many friends as a member of the Boston Yacht Club. She was also a long-time member of the Marblehead Garden Club. Aside from many years of doing volunteer work at Salem Hospital she served as a Charter Member on the Board of Overseers at the North Shore Medical Center/Salem Hospital.

Funeral services will be private.
