Salem – Lester J. Newth, Jr. age 90 years, husband of Pauline (Amatucci) Newth, died Monday morning August 7, 2023.  Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Lester J. Newth, Sr and the late Doris (Sayers) Newth.  He was raised in Lynn and graduated from Lynn Public Schools.  He has been a resident of Salem for over 65 years.

Lester had been employed with the Hoague Sprague in Lynn for many years and had retired from Salem Hospital.  He was an avid swimmer and enjoyed swimming with friends at Forest River Park.  He also got great enjoyment from walking his dogs in the woods.  Lester took great pride in his home and cars, making sure everything was perfectly maintained and highly polished.

In addition to his wife Lester leaves behind his beloved family, daughter Susan Ruane and her partner Keith of Danvers, his son Scott J. Newth and his wife Susan of Wenham, 5 grandchildren Michael, Alyssa, Tiffany, Hannah and Cameron and 4 great grandchildren Gunner, Niamh, Lily and Adriana.
