Salem, MA – Larry Matthew Headlund, son of the late Mary (Mazur) and Irving Headlund, and husband of Teresa (Walsh) Headlund, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.  Larry was born and  raised in Warren, PA, and graduated high school in Florida.  He attended the University of Pittsburg and Boston University, where he would later work on his Doctorate. He began his career working for a software engineering company, and later owned and operated MEI Mathematical Engineering (formerly Eikonal Systems, Charlestown, MA).

Larry loved to travel the world and was deeply interested in Asian culture.  Appropriately, he met his wife Teresa in a martial arts class in the 1970's.  He spoke many languages including Mandarin, and enjoyed spending time in Shanghai. He was a gourmet cook who loved food and was also an accomplished magician.

Larry is survived by his loving wife Teresa (Walsh) Headlund of Salem, his step-mother Elizabeth Evertsen of Warren, PA, his sister Crista (Headlund) Tompkins and her husband John of Bowie, TX, his nephews John and Jason Tompkins, his great nieces Emily, Mariah, Grace and Lily, his great nephew Johnny Lee and a larger extended family of relatives and friends.
