Obituary

Marblehead – Kenneth Alkonis, age 59, passed away at his residence on July 5, 2016.  He was raised and educated in Marblehead and then served in the United States Marine Corps in 29 Palms, CA.  After an honorable discharge in 1981 he worked as a carpenter by trade for several Marblehead Contractors.  He was a longtime member of The Gerry 5 VFA Association, VFW Post 2005, PLAV of Salem and the Lafayette Club.

Kenneth is survived by: his son Jonathan Alkonis SMSgt-USAF and his wife Ami; his grandchildren Courtland Lewis LCPL-USMC, Davin Alkonis and Brendan Alkonis; all of Camden, SC; as well as his siblings Michael Alkonis of Swampscott, Denise Wolff of Danvers and Diane Lamonde of Salem, NH and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will take place Monday July 11, 2016 from 5 to 8PM at the Murphy Funeral Home 85 Federal Street (corner of North St.) Salem, MA 01970.
