Kathleen M. Roy, age 75, passed away May 7, 2018 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late George C. and Marguerite D. (DuBois) Roy. She was raised in Millis and graduated from Keene State College in New Hampshire with her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She continued her education, earning a Masters Degree from Salem State College. Kathy was an elementary school teacher for 37 years, primarily teaching 1st grade in Salem MA. She was passionate about teaching, forming many close relationships with her students and their parents, before retiring in 2001.
Kathy loved her family and being with her grandchildren. She enjoyed her home and entertaining her friends. One of her favorite things to do was to walk around Marblehead Neck. Kathy wanted to express her special thanks to her family, friends, neighbors and caregivers for guiding her through this turbulent time. "You gave me the fight!"
Surviving her is her son, Robert J. LeBlond of Pelham, NH, her daughter-in-law Karen Stamos and her grandchildren William J. and Katherine J. LeBlond all of Georgetown. She also is survived by brother Bernie Roy, sister Brenda Roy, nephews BJ Roy and Jonathan Roy, and niece Becca Roy-O'Gorman.
Visiting hours will be held for Kathy on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, (corner of North Street), Salem from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at the Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
