Kathleen 'Catherine' Ridge, age 96, of Lawrence, formerly of Salem, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence.
Catherine was the daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine Ridge. She was raised & educated in Ireland and emigrated to the U. S. in 1949, residing in Salem MA. for over 40 years. She was employed by Jordan Marsh and enjoyed a long tenure as a sales lady at the North Shore Mall.
Catherine loved spending time with her family and many friends. She was an avid reader, loved animals and frequently volunteered for her church.
She is survived by her loving nieces & nephews & her extended family and was predeceased by her seven siblings.
Her funeral service will be held from Murphy Funeral Home at 9:00AM Friday, November 13, 2015 followed by a Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church 30 Union St. Salem, MA at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will follow the service at Star of the Sea Cemetery, Marblehead, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League 10 Chandler St. Boston, MA 02116.
