Kathleen R. "Kathy" (Morneau) (Pelletier) Parisien, age 51, died peacefully at home early Wednesday afternoon surrounded by her family and friends following a seven year battle with cancer. She is the loving wife of James E. "Jay" Parisien, Jr. with whom she has shared six years or marriage.
Born in Salem the daughter of the late Normand and Rita Theresa (Dion) Morneau, Mrs. Parisien was educated at St. Joseph School and had graduated from St. Joseph High School.
For many years she was employed in the insurance industry working for Holyoke Insurance in Salem. Later she became employed by the Soucy Insurance Agency and most recently was employed by Desjardins Insurance until becoming ill.
A dedicated mother, Kathy loved life and embraced all it had to offer her. An avid Red Sox Fan she enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening around her home. She also enjoyed being outdoors in the sun and caring for her cats.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters Pamela K. Pelletier and her fiancé Anthony DiPaolo of Beverly and Krista M. Pelletier of Salem; a brother Mark Normand Morneau of Salem; her nieces and nephews Sarah Ann and Jennifer Ashley Morneau, Jon, Jessica, Jaclyn and Jake Parisien and her former husband Raymond Pelletier of Salem. She also leaves a large extended family including her mother and father in law James and his wife Nancy Parisien of Salem; a brother and sister in law Jon and his wife Tracey Parisien of Salem and her husband's grandparents A. Ralph and Helen Cyr of Salem and many friends including her special friends, Bob and Lee Laurie of Beverly.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 A.M. in St. Anne Church 292 Jefferson Ave., Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
