"Aunty Kay"
82 years old
Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday March 31st 2022 at care one of Peabody during Rehabilitation. Kathleen was born on April 17th 1939 in Lynn Massachusetts to the late William and Esther (Lundgren) Mackey formerly of Salem.
Kathleen was a graduate of Salem High School and was her class treasurer. After High School she started out in the workforce then ended up in a retail career at Jordan Marsh, which became Macy's as a cash office / gift wrap manager upon her retirement of 46 years. She loved to travel in her younger years to Vermont, Florida, Las Vegas, Etc. with her close friends. Kate was a fan of the Boston Bruins the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots and enjoyed Neil Diamond and watching The Hallmark Channel.
Kathleen was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, sister-in-law and friend to so many people.
We all knew Kathleen by her nickname Aunty Kay which she even had a vanity license plate for many years on her car.
Aunty Kay  will be truly missed by all.
She is survived by her brother William and his wife Dorreen Mackey of Swampscott.  Their children Anne Marie ( Mackey) Pruyn and her daughter Taylor Pruyn of Marblehead, Jen Mackey -LaBrecque and her husband Ben LaBrecque of Marblehead.  Her sister in law Hillary L Mackey of Salem and her children James Jr. and his wife Kimberly Mackey, their children Morgan and James the 3rd Mackey of Florida, Kellie an her Husband Marc Robichaud of Salem their children Jeffrey and his wife Krystina Robichaud, their children Joe and Gianna Robichaud of Rowley, Michael Robichaud of Florida, Danielle and her Husband Daniel Soden of Salem, their children Todd and Cory Soden of Salem, LCpl. Lucas Soden of North Carolina
Also Aunt Barbara Murray of Lynn and many other extended family.  Aunty Kay will be Forever in Our Hearts.  She is preceded in death by her brother James F  Mackey formerly of Salem and her niece Patricia Mackey formerly of Swampscott.
Kathleen's visiting hours will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street, Salem on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 p.m.  Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.  ckey
