IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Karen Frances
Rideout-Rogers
November 2, 1954 – December 26, 2018
Karen Frances Rideout-Rogers of Marblehead MA passed away suddenly on December 26, 2018 after a very brief illness at Mass General Hospital. Karen was born in Marblehead on November 2, 1954, daughter of Robert Noyes Rideout and Janice Hiltz, both now deceased. She graduated from Marblehead High School in 1972 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Suffolk University. She married her true soul mate, Edwin Crowley Rogers, Jr., in 1980 and they were blessed with many devoted years together until Eddie's passing. Karen was fortunate to then also enjoy several additional happy and fulfilling years with John Blaney, until his very recent passing. John introduced Karen to the Gerry 5 and she quickly became an enthusiastic member of the club's cooking crew. Her kitchen was always filled with inviting scents of her baking - original heath-bar cookies being her personal specialty. Karen was a lifelong resident of Marblehead and very proud to be a true "Header." Many will remember her out-and-about town with her beautiful cinnamon chow-chow, Yu-Hsiang, whom she adored and pampered for many years.
Karen will be deeply missed by her siblings Bob, Barb and Kathy and also by her dear nephew Bobby Mace and his wife Jayne, all of Massachusetts. Visiting Hours will be Wednesday, January 2 from 4:00 – 8:00pm, and a brief service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, January 3, both at Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street in Salem MA 01970.
