June A. (Carter) Dolan, 74, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late James "Bill" W. Dolan, Jr., with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.

Born in Salem on November 11, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Frank H. Carter and Jane (Hill) Carter. She and Bill graduated with the Salem High School Class of 1956. June was employed by the New England Telephone Company until the birth of her daughter in 1967. She returned to the workforce in 1983 to the Shawmut Bank on Essex St in Salem as the safe deposit clerk. She retired from Shawmut in 1999. June loved to take day trips all over New England with Bill, bake for her grandchildren, knit and spend time with her family.

June is survived by her daughter Kelly Newbegin and her husband Matthew of Danvers; her son Jeffery and his wife Tracy of North Attleboro; her sisters, Jane Dolan and her husband Peter of Danvers, Joyce Turner and her husband Al; and her brother Edward Carter and his wife Lish of Salem. June also leaves behind four grandchildren, whom they lovingly called "Nana June": Brendan, Katherine, Harrison and Reilly. June was predeceased by her sisters Jean Darcy and Joan Repetto as well as her brother Alan Carter.

At June's request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations in June's memory can be made to Spectrum Adult Day Care Program, 600 Cummings Center, Suite 176X, Cummings Center, Beverly, MA 01915.
