Julia "Jule" (Richards) Pierce, age 86, of Marblehead died in North Shore Medical Center, Salem on Friday. She and her husband, Harold "Brud" Pierce, shared 67 years of marriage.





Born in Salem the daughter of the late Earl and Anne (Scott) Richards, Sr., she was educated in Salem, attended St. Mary's Commercial School and was graduated from Salem High School. After she and her husband married they settled in Marblehead where she raised their family. Mrs. Pierce was a very involved mother, grandmother and great grandmother as well as a friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew her.



In addition to her husband she is survived by four children, Linda Fitzgerald and her husband Neil of Stuart, FL, Christine Slaven and her husband Robert of Baton Rouge, LA, Gregory Pierce and his wife Karen of Marblehead and Michael Pierce of Beverly; a brother Earl J. Richard Jr. of Wakefield, NH; a sister Mildred Eliot, of Crofton, MD; eight grandchildren Erin Donohue, Amy Sheehan, Kara Moss, Peter Fitzgerald, Patrick and Maura Slaven and Brian and Sara Pierce; eight great grand children and many nieces and nephews.



A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 29th at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 81 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead. At the family's request there will be no visiting hours. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
