Mrs. Josephine Velardi, 94, of 89 Morton St. Andover. , passed away Peacefully Saturday, May 10th, 2008 at Academy Manor Nursing Home. She was the widow of Laurie "Larry" Velardi with whom she shared 63 wonderful years. Josephine was born in Salem, MA the daughter of the late John and Mary (Sparta) Tina.
Josephine organized Trips for her friends but mostly she loved spending time with and caring for her family. She loved dance and travel and was an excellent cook and seamstress.
She was very active member of St. Mary's Italian Church in Salem.
Josephine is survived by a daughter Natalie Bradley and her husband Paul of No. Andover , a son Kenneth Velardi and his wife Sally of No. Andover; four grandchildren Stephanie von der Luft and her husband Hans of Hingham, Lauren Connolly and her husband Sean of No. Andover and Craig and Sara Velardi of No. Andover; Four great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers Joseph Tina and Guy Tina.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North ST) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Immaculate Conc eption Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in St. Marty's Cemetery, Salem.
