Joseph A. Sutherland of Salem, age 67, husband of Sandra "Levesque" Sutherland died Thursday evening June 9 , 2016 at Spaulding Hospital in Cambridge. Raised and educated in Cambridge, he was drafted during the Vietnam War and served in the Army. Following his discharge, he moved to West Peabody and lived with his sister Rosie until marrying his wife Sandra in 1976 and settling in Salem. He then became employed by Babco Textron in Danvers for 25 Years until they closed. He continued working for Hanson Engineering until his retirement. He believed that family was most important and was a devoted father and husband.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife Sandra; His son Joseph Sutherland and his wife Michelle of Danvers; his daughter Jessica Sutherland and Bobby Piotrowski; his son Brian Sutherland and his wife Lyuda of Swampscott as well as his grandchildren Madison, Simon, Rachel, Gianna and Emma.
A funeral Service will take place on Wednesday June 15, 2016 at 11AM at The Murphy Funeral Home 85 Federal Street (corner of North St.) Salem, MA 01970.
