Joseph Philip Maurais Jr, 55, of Salem passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday July 25, 2017.

Joseph was born on January 30, 1962 to his late father Joseph P. Maurais Sr. and surviving mother April Maurais. Joseph grew up living on the North Shore in Salem while going to schools in the area.

After high school, Joseph went into construction as a laborer where he also was a husband to Sherri-Ann Maurais and had three children.

Growing up on the North Shore, Joseph was an avid Boston sports fan as he religiously watch the Bruins, Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics while pursuing his hobbies of being outdoors and working on cars like his father did.

Joseph is survived by his mother April Maurais; former wife Sherri- Ann Maurais; his children Elizabeth Maurais of Portland, ME, Anthony Maurais of Salem, MA, and Kaylee Maurais of Salem, MA; his siblings Cheryle Sharkey of Lynn MA, Donna Maurais of Peabody, MA and the late Randall "Randy" Maurais; grandchildren Gregory Giuntini and Jackson Giuntini of Portland, ME; and several nieces and nephews.
