Joseph B. Malloy, Jr, age 53, son of Jospeh B. Malloy, Sr. and Mary (Carr) Malloy of Jensen Beach, Florida, died Thursday, October 2, 2014 in Florida. Born in Salem, Joseph was a graduate of Salem High School in the class of 1979. While in High School, he was a member of the Salem High School Orchestra & Marching Band. Following High School, Joe entered the US Army National Guard. Upon returning home, he studied music at the University of Lowell and continued his studies at Boston University in Computer Science.



Joe was employed with Boston University for many years. He was a Computer Support Technician for the University. He has been a resident of Florida for the past 9 years.



In addition to his parents, Joe is survived by his brother and sister, John Malloy of Brookline and Anne Malloy and her partner Nicholas Hart of Marblehead; his aunts Jeanne Higgins of Beverly and Virginia Taddeo of San Gabriel, CA and many cousins.



His Funeral Service will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) Salem on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
