Danvers- Joseph C. Keohane, 81 of Danvers beloved husband of Kathryn A. (McCue) Keohane died peacefully at home on Monday, March 14, 2011.

Joseph was born, raised and educated in Easthampton, MA the son of the late Michael and Viva (Weston) Keohane. Following his graduation from high school, he joined the United States Navy, proudly serving as a submariner on the USS Diodon SS 349 during the Korean War.

After his discharge, he moved to Danvers where he began his 45 year career as a service station dealer. Upon his retirement, Joe continued working at the Home Depot in Danvers for an additional 12 years.

Joe was an active -member and past President of the Peabody Lions Club, a devout member of the Catholic church and an avid golfer. . He was frequently found at the New Meadows golf course or searching out new courses to play with his fellow Nomads.

In addition to his loving wife of 52 years, he is survived by his son, Kevin J. Keohane of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and his daughter Susan E. Pindara and her husband Matthew of Windham, NH as well as a brother Charles Keohane and his wife Vera of Springfield, MA. Joe also leaves his beloved in-laws, Sister Mary McCue SND, Dorothy and William Chambers, Eleanor and Richard Page as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers Michael and John Keohane and two sisters, Mary Wyzalek and Viva Terpay.
Joe will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and faithful friend to many. He was a "wonderful" man who will be deeply missed.

Family and friends may gather at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (corner of North St), Salem on Friday, March 18th from 9:30 to 11:15 am prior the Funeral Mass which will be held at 12 Noon in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin St., Peabody, MA. Interment will be private.
