Marblehead
Jon A. Willard, 63, of Marblehead, passed away on March 25, 2010, with his family by his side.
A true Marbleheader, Jon grew up in Old Town on Front Street and loved to sail. He was a 1965 graduate of Marblehead High School, and was a Navy Veteran. After an extensive career as an Iron Worker for Local 7, with many projects around Boston including the Big Dig, Jon retired in 2006 to enjoy life and become a full time grandfather.
Jon was also a dedicated member of the Gerry 5 where he enjoyed spending time with his many friends and playing pool.
Jon was loved by many, especially his wife of 40 years, Pamela (Heaphy) Willard and his daughters Polly Willard Mabry and her husband Mike and Alyssa Willard Prince and her husband Kevin. He was also adored as "P" and "Bubba" by his grandchildren Callie Prince, Mia Mabry, Cole Prince, and his grand-dog Riley Mabry. In addition, Jon leaves behind his two brothers and their wives, Steven & Arlene Willard and Laurie & Beth Willard, all of Marblehead.
In lieu of flowers, Jon would want you to live your life as he had, with true love and absolute dedication to his family.
Jon, Dad, "You've given us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you, you are always by our side," Pam, Polly, and Alyssa.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 3rd, between 3-6pm, at his daughter Alyssa's home, 71 Lafayette Street, Marblehead. Friends and family are welcome.
