John Tkaczuk, age 97 passed away on the afternoon of Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in West Peabody under Hospice care with Care Dimensions.  John was the son of the late John and Xenia (Maroz) Tkaczuk.

John loved the Lord Jesus and built his life according to the scriptures. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Salem for over 50 years, first at Lafayette Street United Methodist Church, then at Wesley United Methodist Church when the two churches merged.

He was a kind and gentle soul who loved to help people and not only sat on committees at the church but was active in service to the people.

John had a good sense of humor and was loved by all.  John loved to go to the Peabody Senior Center and have lunch with his friends and play pool.

John is survived by his caregiver John W. Silver of Salem as well as his close friends Jack Lee Steves of NY, and Janet Howcroft of Peabody. He was predeceased by his brother Michael N. Kachuk.

Funeral services for John will be held at the Wesley United Methodist Church on February 26, 2025, at 11am. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery where John will be honored for his Military Service in the United States Army.
