John Joseph Ruscio, age 68, passed away at his home in Osterville in the presence of his loving family. Son of the late Remo and Mary Ruscio, he was raised and educated in Swampscott.  After graduating Swampscott high school in 1966, he attended Northeastern University and graduated with a degree in business in 1973.  He then went to work as a stock broker, developing a lifelong fascination and interest in finance markets; and using that knowledge, he wrote a financial advice column in a local publication.  He later worked for Lee Certified Coins and finally Planned Furniture Promotions until becoming ill.

John was a man who loved the people he was close with dearly.  He was a loving and supportive father and a truly genuine person. He enjoyed the cinema and would go every weekend with his son Matt. He was a member of Haverhill Country Club and enjoyed writing a finance blog in his spare time.

John is survived by; his loving son Matt Ruscio of Sommerville, his beloved companion Chrysanthie Capernaros of Osterville, his former wife Linda Ruscio of Manchester, NH, his brother James Ruscio of Derry, NH, his brother-in-law David Bjork of Derry, NH and his nieces Mary Beth and Jacquelyn Bjork.  He is predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Bjork.

Visiting hours will take place on Wednesday December 28, 2016 from 4 to 8PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (corner of North St.) Salem, MA 01970.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 174 Humphrey St, Swampscott, MA 01907 at 10AM on Thursday December 29, 2016.  Interment will be immediately following at Swampscott Cemetery, Essex St. Swampscott, MA.
