PEABODY- On the evening of Tuesday January 15, 2019 John "Parker" P. Leahy passed away peacefully with his family by his side. John was born and raised in Salem in 1931 by his parents William James Leahy and Mary P. (Murphy) Leahy.
John attended local Salem schools before he graduated and went onto serve the United States in the Marine Corps. After his discharge, John met the love of his life Mary (Sidoti) of 60 years as they went onto begin and raise their family in Peabody.
Providing for his family, John worked for New England Telephone for 40 years before he retired and worked for Kelly's Roast Beef in Revere for 18 years. John will be remembered by the people he worked with for his devotion and dedication to any job he did.
Outside of his work, John and his family were frequent flyers to Las Vegas as it was one of his favorite places. Living in Peabody, John also loved to enjoy the local bowling allies with his friends and family while also following horseracing. Above all, John will be remembered as a loving husband and father to his wife and children.
John is survived by: his daughter Donna Anemoduris and fiancé John Borden of Peabody, his daughter Robin Murphy and companion Steven Duback of Salisbury, his granddaughter Brianna Deschenes and her husband Frank, his granddaughter Fallon Anemoduris and her partner Ryan Lane, his grandson Jake Anemoduris and his partner Adrianna Beatrice; his great granddaughter Sofia Deschenes; and many nieces and nephews.
John is predeceased by his wife of 60 years Mary (Sidoti) Leahy, his daughter Mary Nancy Leahy, and his brother James Leahy.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will take place on Friday January 18, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, located on 85 Federal St. Salem. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday January 19, 2019 at 9:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, located at 1 Margin St. Peabody. Burial will take place following the mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Salem, located at 226 North St. Salem.
