John Robert "J5" Hartigan age 47 of Peabody died in the Kaplan Family Hospice House early Friday morning with his loving wife Joyce at his side.

Born in Lynn the son of the late John J. and Dorothy E. (Stickney) Hartigan, he attended local schools. Once he completed his education at Lynn Classical High School, John began what has been a 23 year career at Medico in Woburn as a quality control technician.

His real focus in life was his children and family who he loved and loved to be with. He enjoyed each day to its fullest, enjoyed travel, fished anywhere he could throw a line and was always the "life of the party". In short, he embraced life to its fullest.

His survivors also include the children, John Hartigan of Salem, Michael Hartigan of Haverhill, Elaine, Emily and Lacey Hartigan of Tewksbury and Courtney Petersen of Peabody; his brothers and sisters Della DiThomas of Swampscott, James Hartigan of Allentown, PA, Donna Baker of Topeka, KS and Thomas Hartigan of Lynn; two grandchildren Kara Rosa Hartigan of Salem and Ryan Michael Hartigan of Haverhill and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 7:00PM in the South Congregational Church, 60 Prospect St., Peabody, MA 01960. Interment will be private.
