Salem- John Guinivan, age 83, of Salem, MA passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Kaplan House in Danvers after an extended illness.

He was born in Beverly on January 8, 1939 to Paul and Getrude Guinivan. John graduated from Beverly High School in 1957 and attended Monson Academy for a postgraduate study. John attended Boston College and participated in the Army National Guard for six years. He was employed for 30 years by UBS Financial Services. For many years he resided in Lowell then recently in Salem.

In high school, John played football, basketball, and was captain of the track team. John was a lifelong fan of all Boston sports, especially the Patriots and the Celtics. His favorite all time player was Bob Cousy.

John is survived by his sister Ann Dion, brother Paul Guinivan and his wife Nancy as well as a sister-in-law Sandra Guinivan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his siblings David and Jane Guinivan.
