Joanna V. Styczko, age 53, formerly of Salem, died Monday, May 11, at her home in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Born, raised and educated in Salem, the daughter of Regina (Zielski) Styczko and the late Anthony Styczko, Joanna was a graduate of Salem High School. She trained as a phlebotomist and was employed by Shaughnessy Hospital in Salem before becoming a school bus driver in Peabody. For the last several years, Joanna lived in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she and her companion, Wayne Greenfield, operated Treasure Village MHP.
Joanna will be remembered as a warm and caring spirit with a generous heart. While she enjoyed bargain hunting and Bingo, she especially enjoyed her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her mother and her companion, she is survived by a son, Robert A. Styczko of Salem; five brothers: Paul and his companion Ellen O'Malley, Richard, Thomas, and Joseph Styczko, all of Salem, and John and his wife Carol and their family of Peabody; a sister, Elizabeth Powers of Beverly, and two nieces, Nicole Taylor and Amanda Powers.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, May 21, at 6:00 PM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (corner of North St) Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be before the service on Thursday from 3:00PM to 6:00 PM. Interment will be private.
