Salem….
Jeannette Y. Chouinard age 76, of Salem died at home Friday afternoon surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Wilfred A. Chouinard in 1976, with whom she had shared 22 years of marriage.
A lifelong resident of Salem she was born at her family home in Salem, one of eight children, the daughter of the late Hilas and Marie (Gravel) Beaulieu. After completing her education in Salem Schools, Mrs. Chouinard became employed in local factories in the Salem area. Once she and her late husband married, they worked very hard to raise their family. Following her husband's death, Mrs. Chouinard left factory work and established her own home cleaning business.
A very determined and strong minded person, she never gave up. Her family of four boys surrounded her with love and were always the focus of her attention. She is also known by many for her feisty nature, great sense of humor and for the fun she had collecting refrigerator magnets and she filled her walls of her living room with pictures of those she loved..
Mrs. Chouinard is survived by four children Michael Chouinard of Salem with whom she resided, Richard Chouinard of Baltimore, MD, Charles Chouinard of Beverly and Wilfred Chouinard of Seattle, WA; six grandchildren Desirae, Heidi, Melissa, Dylien, Nadine and Francine; three great grandchildren Jayden, Cody and Madison and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North ST) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery alongside her husband.
