IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jean M.
O'Connell
February 5, 1937 – July 10, 2022
SALEM- Jean M. O'Connell (85), of Salem, passed away with her loving family by her side on the evening of Sunday July 10, 2022 at Sutton Hill Center in North Andover. Born in Salem, Jean was the daughter of the late Alice L.E. (Auger) and Everett S. Evans. Jean was also the beloved wife to the late Leo O'Connell for 35 years.
Growing up in Salem, Jean attended St. Joseph's school through High School. It was there she learned how to speak fluent French, which she would carry throughout her life and share with her beloved family. Later, she met the love of her life Leo O'Connell where they would share 35 years of marriage and beautiful memories with their children. As a family, they spent all the time they could together, as they vacationed every Summer at Lake Ossipee. Around the holidays, Jean would host all her friends and family every Christmas Eve until the early hours of the morning celebrating and spending quality time together.
When she wasn't working in the switchboard at Salem Hospital, Jean would travel with Leo and their friends on day trips all around New England including Foxwoods. The two of them loved square dancing together and ended up meeting a lot of their dear friends on the dance floor. Jean will be dearly missed by all who knew her as a loving mother and dear friend to all.
Jean is survived by: her daughter Wendy Davis and her husband Glenn of Lynnfield, her son Eric O'Connell and his fiancé Robin of Lynnfield, her daughter Heidi Taylor and her husband Kevin of North Reading; her grandchildren Erika, Mark, Greg, Amanda, Cassie, Jarryd, Kelsi, and Brendan; her great grandchildren Shelby, Dominic, Noah, and Liam; and her Godchild Kathy.
