Jean E. (McGrane) O'Donnell, 88, of Salem passed away on March 16, 2016, at Grosvenor Park Nursing Home in Salem. She was born on April 2, 1927. She was the daughter of the late John P. and Mary F. (McGuire) McGrane. She was the wife of the late Joseph T. O'Donnell.
After leaving school, Jean began her work career at the telephone company but then went to work for Parker Brothers Games in Salem where she worked for over 50yrs. She started as a wrapper in the box department and ended her career as a clerk in the fabrication department. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Jean retired in 1991 when the company closed.
She remained active for many years enjoying time with her great granddaughters, reading, playing Bingo, going to the beach and the casinos, traveling with family and friends and alos loved anything the color green.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph M. O'Donnell of Methuen MA, and James T. O'Donnell of Hooksett NH, her granddaughter, Kathryn Weekley and her husband Joshua of New Concord, Ohio and her great granddaughters, Noelle, Delainey, and Christianna Bostley. She is also survived by her brothers, William McGrane of Orange Park FL and Everett McGrane of Danvers MA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
One of ten children, she was predeceased by her sisters, Louise McGrane, Margaret (Eileen) McGrane, and her brothers, George McGrane, John (Phil) McGrane, Leonard McGrane, Robert McGrane and Richard McGrane, as well as her life-long friend Margaret (Peg) Bezemes.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, March 21, 2016 from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., Salem at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd, Salem, at 10:00 A.M.
