Janice (Sargent) Englehardt , age 81, loving wife of the late Richard Englehardt formerly of Pioneer Terrace, Salem died in the Grosvenor Park Nursing Home on Monday evening.

Mrs. Englehardt was born and raised in Manchester by the Sea, the daughter of the late Walter and Mary E. (Cosgrove) Sargent. She was educated in Manchester by the Sea schools and was graduated from Manchester High School.
A dedicated mother, she was a House Mother for the Salem Hospital School of Nursing for several years. Later, she and her husband Richard served together as the Caretakers of Camp Naumkeag in Salem. Mrs. Englehardt also served as a member of Camp Naumkeag's Board of Directors for many years. While overseeing Camp Naumkeag, Mrs. Englehardt developed a close relationship for Camp Naumkeag with the Salem Probation office working whereby youth were allowed to do "community service" at Camp Naumkeag.

Mrs. Englehardt is survived by a son Phillip and his wife Karen Snow of North Scituate, RI; a grandson Alexander Snow of North Scituate, RI; one step grandson Bradley Snow of Seattle, WA; a sister Noreen Peart of Manchester by the Sea, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers Jack, Francis and Winthrop Sargent.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 23 a 10:00 A.M. in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Manchester by the Sea. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Friday afternoon from 4 to 6 P.M.
