Obituary

Jane E. (Doyle) Dionne, wife for 60 years of the late Jean-Paul Dionne and daughter of Arthur F. and Bertha (Cunningham) Doyle passed away on April 10, 2020 at home surrounded by the love of her family.

She was a life- long third generation resident of Salem Willows who graduated from Salem High School in 1952 and attended Salem State College. Jane worked for many years as a manger for Chilton Corporation and later for Amicon in the accounting department.

Over the years she served in many capacities and offices at the Tabernacle Congregational Church in Salem.  She co-chaired the annual Friendship Fair for eleven years with her husband, served as a Deacon and as Vice Moderator, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She served as chair of the Hospitality Committee and as treasurer of the Tabernacle Women's Association.  In later years she managed the Prayer Shawl Ministry and chaired the Memorial Fund.

Her hobbies were knitting for charity, counted cross stitch and reading.  She belonged to two book groups, one for over 30 years.

Mrs. Dionne served on the Board of Directors of the Brookhouse Home for Women   and was a member of the Juniper Community Club.

Jane would like to be remembered by the following statement:

Family came first, friends were important. She did what she could for her church family.

She leaves three children:  Paul and his wife Susan of Derry, N.H., Ellen White and her husband Kevin of Salem and John and his wife Susan of Gloucester.  She leaves her grandchildren Cowan White and his wife Christina; Erin Fagone and her husband Stephen; Kathryn White and her fiancée Stephen Smith; Benjamin Dionne, Alyssa Dionne and her fiancée David Shoemaker, Tony Da Cruz and his wife Caitlyn; Colin Dionne and his wife Jennifer; Hannah Bagley and her husband William and Aidan Lucia. Great-grandchildren are Isabella, Evan, Liam, Anthony, Calvin, Stephen, Elyse, Autumn, Lawson, Vincent, Kevin and Frank.

Donations may be made in Jane's memory to either the Tabernacle Church Memorial fund 40 Washington St. Salem or The Plummer Home 37 Winter Island Rd. Salem. A memorial service will be held in the future when her family and friends can all be together.
