Salem……


James "Jimmy" Silva, age 44 of Salem, died Friday
August 31, 2012 surrounded by his family at North Shore Medical Center, Salem.


Born in Portugal the son of the late Joao Silva and Maria (Silva) Silva he was raised in Lowell until moving to Peabody with his family at the age of 17.


Jimmy was an avid saltwater fisherman who also loved to watch the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots with his friends. He was also a very generous person with a big heart that would do anything he could to help a friend or stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who had known him.


In addition to his mother he is survived by three brothers, John and his wife Ivone Silva of Salem, Leo and his wife Debra of Bradford and Michael and his wife Christie Silva of Salem and many nieces and Nephews.


He was predeceased by a sister Maria Baia.


His funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 10:15 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home ,85 Federal St, Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Interment will be in St Mary's Cemetery Salem. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
