Peabody, MA- James "Jim" Billings passed away peacefully at the age of 82. Born in Winthrop Jim spent his youth with an Irish Catholic upbringing in Watertown with his dear parents Ken and Anna. He graduated Boston College with a degree in marketing and enlisted in the Navy soon thereafter serving as a chaplains assistant. He was honorably discharged in 1959.

Jim worked as a Purchasing Manager, most notably with Sylvania, Parker Brothers, Phillip Morris and General Electric. He was an avid golfer and loyal Boston sports fan, ESPECIALLY, for his beloved New England Patriots with who he had season tickets for 46 years.

He enjoyed his retirement years with his loving wife summering at their cottage in Sebago Lake, Maine. As a devout family man Jim/Dad/Papa spent as much time as possible with his 3 children and 2 grandchildren, and he couldn't do enough for them. He touched all who knew him and he will be sorely missed.

He is survived by: his loving wife Pauline, his daughter Sharon Billings, his sons Michael and Kevin Billings, his daughter-in-law Margaret Billings, his granddaughter Megan Marsh, his grandson James Billings and his first wife Jeanne Cammett.

He is predeceased by: his father Kenneth Billings, his mother Anna Billings, his aunt Mary Leahy, his brothers Kenneth and Robert Billings.

Visiting hours for James will take place on Tuesday January 17, 2017 from 4 to 8PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (Corner of North St.) Salem, MA 01970.
