Obituary

Irene C. (Gagne) Richard, age 84 , wife of the late Clifford Richard formerly of Jefferson Ave, Salem, died on Sunday March 23, 2014 at the Port Health Care Center, Newburyport, following a long illness.

Born in Salem, the daughter of the late Emile and Mildred Gagne, she was raised and educated in Salem, attending Ste. Ann School.   For over 25 years she was employed by Dube's restaurant on Jefferson Ave as awaitress, while her husband, Cliff, was the chef in the kitchen.  She was also a book keeper for several businesses.

Irene enjoyed cooking, bingo, playing cards, camping, but most of all being with family.

She is survived by her children, Donald Richard of Beverly, Paul Richard of Randolph, Jeanne Ventura of Mooresville, NC, Stephen Richard of Newbury, and Michael Richard of Stratham, NH, one brother Ronald Gagne of Methuen, two sisters, Pat Goodrich of Florida, Claire Nawrocki of Peabody, seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was also the sister of the late Pete Gagne, Robert Gagne and Theresa Lajoie.

Her Funeral will be held from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.)  on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 10:15 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anne Church, 292 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11;00 a.m.   Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 2 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.  For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Fidelis Hospice, 25 Railroad Square, Haverhill, MA  01832.  For additional information or on line guest book please call 978-744-0497 or visit www.MurphyFuneralHome.com .
