Obituary

Salem – Ida A. (Gangemi) Rennicks 94, Beloved wife of the late Edward J. Rennicks Jr., with Whom she shared 70 years of marriage. Died peacefully Friday morning, January 22, 2016 at The Kaplan Family Hospice House. Surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Gangemi & Stephaney (Mazzio) Gangemi.

Ida Rennicks was a long-time resident of Salem and a graduate of Beverly High School, Class of 1940. She was the captain of the BHS basketball team from 1939-1940. She was communicant of St. James Church, Salem which she volunteered for several years. She worked at the former Parker Brothers Games in Salem for several years. Previously, area Dunkin Donuts & Hollywood Hits. Until the young age of 89. She was a member of Salem Council on Aging, Ward II Social Club, AOH in Salem & Elks in Peabody.

Ida Rennicks is survived by her five children, one son, Edward J. Rennicks the III & wife Lauren of Beverly. Four daughters, Patricia Dieselman & husband John of Ipswich, Dorothea Cormier & husband Robert of Salem, Gail Page & husband Richard of Middleton, & Linda Rennicks of Salem. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Ruth Gulliford of Phoenix Arizona. Twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren & one great great grandchild.
She was predeceased by her brothers; Anthony & Nicky Gangemi & by her sisters Sarah Harrison & Ethel Vitale.

Family always came first to Ida, She had a contagious smile. Anyone who knew, Ida, loved her. Fun loving soul. She enjoyed Dancing, singing, & playing cards with family. She loved the family dog, Teddy, best friend.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the whole staff at the Kaplan House, especially Jesse, Angela, Tracy, Mandy, Pam and Ed. Thank you. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Kaplan Family Hospice House.

Her funeral will be held from the Murphy Funeral Home , 85 Federal St, (Cor. of North St.) Salem, on Wednesday January 27 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, 160 Federal St. Salem at 10am. Visiting hours are Tuesday January 26, 2016 from 4-8pm at the Funeral Home. Friends and family welcomed.
