Ian A. King aged 56 of Salem, MA passed away on Saturday, September 12th, 2026, in Brooklyn, NY of heart failure. He was born November 6th, 1969, in Boston, MA to Stephany Tiernan and Patrick King. Ian earned his bachelor’s degree in English literature from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA. He worked as a title examiner for Marsh, Moriarty, Ontell, & Golder, Boston.
Ian grew up in and around Boston, MA, and was involved with theater and the punk scene from an early age. Ian had been a guitarist and backup singer for Boston hardcore band, The F.U.’s, since 2015. The band’s exploits took Ian across the world, from Berlin to Osaka.
Ian’s intelligence, sense of humor, and gregarious nature were legendary, and it is no wonder he accrued so many friends. He was an avid reader of fantasy, science fiction, and history. Ian’s world class discography and film collection spoke to his undying love and knowledge of the performing arts.
Ian is survived by his son Rowan King of Salem, MA, mother Stephany Tiernan of Woburn, MA, and father Patrick King of Exeter, NH, and countless friends around the globe. Ian is predeceased by his loyal and loving feline companions Southpaw & Toile.

Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
